Best game of 09

What do you guys think is the best game of 09 and why?

For me its a tie between League Of Legends, Left 4 Dead 2, and Mirrors Edge.
League Of Legends because it does a great job of extending the already great Dota game, which created its own game genre "Multiplayer Online Battle Arena". It is much easier to pick up than the original Dota, and its free.
L4D2 because everyone loves killing zombies. This game adds style to the otherwise common theme with its choice of setting, characters and an obvious but yet interesting plot.
And Mirrors Edge because, well I was expecting a lot from the game, but it somehow managed to give me more than I expected! It was completely immersive, had a story which fit in well with the gameplay, and the controls were natural while allowing complex maneuvers.

None of them really struck out to me as being awesome, i voted for Dragon Age out of the list I have found that to be pretty enjoyable. For me though the best game is Torchlight, although it was pretty short ive had lots of fun hacking and slashing and preparing for diablo 3

Only just installed L4D2 and it seems pretty cool so far but cant judge it yet, most of the others I havent played!

I prefer older games, they dont make them like they used too

you've missed Drake's Uncharted 2. Good Game gave it game of the year.

Dragon Age is still wrapped under the tree. Am looking forward to playing it.

Personally I've not gamed much this year. Faves include last year's GHWT, Valkyria Chronicles, and Pixel Junk's Monsters... (one handed typing sux)

I can't really vote when the most I've played is ~4 hours of Brutal Legend from that list. I'm looking forward to playing Assasins Creed II, Uncharted 2 and others but I'll wait to pick them up cheap. I'll be going the Wii route for christmas, with the motion plus thingo and sports resort game. Good entertainment with the neices and nephews when they come around.
