Ratbag doesn't take people for work experience.

I don't know of any game companies here that do. There would probably be a long line of people interested (going by 600 applications to Ratbag two years ago).

When there's only one games company in the state, there would be a very long line outside the door. However, you have to understand, most of the people who applied were severe wannabes; very few of them would've had the skill to know what was going on, nor the initiative to create their own game.

It's a pity. I think you'll find in the next year, new games companies will be popping up in Adelaide.

Cheers,
Paul.

Its always funny necroposting.

My other half had a few interviews with Ratbag, and in all the hullaballoo of the takeover he could never get hold of the HR person. Weeks of mutually leaving messages on answering machines ensued, and then we found out they were shut down.

And then we bowed to the thousands of cries of "why don't you go write your own game" so we have been, and its slowly coming along.
I feel the need ... the need for trees

hehe, sounds good.

ALways good to do your own work when you can i rekon, rather than working on some crappy title you dont really care about.

Thats always better than nothing :), I know companies appreciate at a minimum some mod work, as long as you clearly explain what is yours etc.
